Wonderful property, well maintained. Relaxing and glorious vacation. View breath taking. Only suggestion is maintaining lock boxes from corrosion . We were locked out once due to nonfunctional lock box. Claudia however was immediately available and got us a new key/lock box within 30 minutes
Kailua is a bedroom community on Oahu. Evereybody works in Honolulu and commuting can be a pain. Nevertheless we chose to commute instead of suffering the hectic high rises of HNL, staying in Kaimalino Kai. This property is owned by a family of Chinese extraction. It is very well managed by trinity properties, who managed to fix the only thing that malfunctioned-a garage door-within 30 minutes and EVEN drive back to the property to fetch a bag we had forgotten in time of our flight! Thank You Elizabeth! The house as such is spotless and I really mean it! The second floor is a large living room, a lanai and a kitchen and the views of the ocean are to die for. The windows can be opened to let in the thunder of the waves and the sea is floodlit making it lovely even in the dark evenings. The beach can not be swum outside the villa but You may walk and sun Yourself. Which You also can on most parts of the property in total privacy. The pool is wonderful, but, as with everywhere in Kailua, there are CLOSE neighbours. The furniture as such is beautiful and in very good shape. Goodies in the fridge are included at no extra cost as well as a huge fruit basket and condiments. The kitchen is so full of equipment that You are spoilt for choice and there are plenty of good stores nearby to buy victuals, as well as Kailua beach, one of the best in USA. The only things not working was the ice machine, because of the climate with salt spray that actually enters the house, and a light felt like a privilege to be able to be a guest of this family mansion and we only leave it reluctantly.
My stay was very very satisfied. Excelent house with really nice view. Good maintenance, good quality of furniture. very professional management. I will definetly go there again in near future.
We were happy with our stay. Thanks
This home has superb ocean/sunrise views and mountain/rainbows/sunset views. It is well equipped with everything we needed; management was professional, responsive and friendly.
Home was in incredible condition. Short drive to Kailua beach, which is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The view from second floor kitchen/great room is simply stunning. You can go tidepooling in front of house. Quiet neighborhood, very private. Pool was heated and warm. House is gorgeously decorated. We hope to come back!
Gorgeous location. Kailus Beach is the place to stay in Oahu. The house is airy, very well maintained and blessed with gorgeous views from the second floor dining and living rooms. The vistas were so beautiful that we decided to eat in for all evening meals. No other restaurant could compete with the view!!!
Great house. Great location.
Everything as advertised, plus plus. Front-yard with a very private pool; bedrooms and living areas on first floor with decks, very well designed and furnished; second floor great room is the most spectacular setting/ocean front view in our experience (We rent ocean-front vacation homes all over the USA and Mexico, so we know the competition).
We were very pleased with our overall experience at Kaimalino Kai. With the Pacific literally crashing in the back yard, it must be a constant struggle to maintain the house. There were some electrical problems that inconvenienced us, such as the dishwasher dying on us after only 1 use, and a recessed lighting fixture in the living room randomly crashing down to the living room floor one morning during sunrise. Luckily, no one was hurt. Also, we were surprised to find such basic, inferior blinds in the MBR, instead of black out window treatments or electric shutters to block out the blinding sun rising beginning at 6AM. However, the property has great "chi," almost like the Malibu of Oahu. The renovation work was just beautiful, and we appreciated how well furnished (antiques) & stocked the home was (kitchen, beach towels & chairs, etc.). The paparazzi neighbors to the left tended to be very intrusive with their oggling and audible commentary, obliterating our privacy at so many points. They were the biggest confounding factor for the entire vacation, a major drawback. However, the single blonde female to the right with the black lab was a respectful gem of a neighbor...50-50 isn't a bad neighborly ratio. Perhaps the owner could build a tall fence on the left side of the property to block out the instrusive, rude commune? It's priced well and fairly in its own market niche. We envy the owners!
All was perfect, However I do feel $500 cleaning fee was rather steep for 3 nights.
Comfortable lanai on scenic mountain side for breakfasts, large "great" room with sweeping views of ocean, wonderful pool in gorgeous garden.
A positive experience with every thing one could need to enjoy a home away from home. I can only think of one request which would be to keep any condiments and pantry items which vacationers buy as to not have to purchase these items when staying.
Came to visit our son, but thoughly enjoyed the property and the area.
This is a fabulous home with something for everyone in your family. We loved the heated pool so you can swim anytime day or night; the front lanai with mountain views for morning coffee; the downstairs TV area for the teenagers while the adults relaxed upstairs; the fabulous ocean views anytime of the day in the upstairs area. Everything we needed was on hand - fluffy beach towels, beach chairs and fishing rods. This was truly a wonderful holiday home and our family enjoyed our week there. The kitchen is out of this world and was so good that we ate home every evening, talking and enjoying the views from the dinner table. Thanks Claudia for your help with our questions during the week. We are regular visitors to Hawaii so hope to come back again.
I gave a 3 star rating for one reason plastic dinnerware and bowls that had childern characters on them other than than that the house is a 5 star. But I still rent the house again. Thanks
We loved it! things could be improved: 1. BBQ is old 2. The cleaning machine in a pool was kind of annoying 3. Floating toys in a pool are mostly damaged.
This is a lovely home, but what set this experience apart from others was the service provided by Trinity Properties. Mahalo.
Kaimalino Kai was the perfect home for our family vacation. The views were magnificent, the home was beautiful, and provided everything we could possibly need. We also enjoyed meeting Claudia who was most helpful. The maps were great, all our questions were answered, and the basket of Hawaiian treats was a wonderful addition. We couldn't have been more pleased, and everyone is ready to come back again. Mahalo!
Everyone enjoyed the stay. What a wonderful home to spend a fun fill trip. The setting is breath taking and the home is very comfortable. For a family with kids, the pool and layout is perfect. Thank you for a fun vacation.
we were enjoyed our stay. This house was exactly our dream house when we are spend Vacation in Hawaii. Nice view and Very Quiet neighbors. and wondeful yard wiz pool. no traffice noise! you can only hear the waves. but one thing that i didnt noticed was there has only two bethroom at first floor. they said they has three bedrooms and beths. and all bed rooms are downstairs, but one bath is at upstairs. so we have to share the one bathroom wiz who is in Guest room and second bedroom... this is little uncomfortable for us. but, other things were too perfect. so i can not complain about this small thing!!
This home was beautiful, exactly as it appears online, and had lots of room for our large family. The views were beyond fabulous! We thoroughly enjoyed spending our vacation in this home, and hope to come back again.
The home was beautiful and the view was spectacular. Everything we needed was there from kitchen supplies to beach towels. The photos were a little misleading as to the layout of the house, but in no way were we disappointed. The pool is in the front yard and all the bedrooms are downstairs. The guest room with the sitting area is actually open to the living room and separated by a folding door. The lanai on the second floor faces the frontyard/pool area; we loved having breakfast out there every morning looking at the beautiful mountains in front of us. Definitely a great experience!
We had a wonderful time in Kailua, and the property was amazing and we enjoyed ever bit off it. The only problem where all the cats that were howling at night. Other then that it was fantastic.
We ( my husband, 2 teen daughters, and I ) were all thrilled with this gorgeous home- the location, the waves crashing on the shore, the decor (each room had a special feeling.) The views were all beautiful and the pool was a wonderful addition. We will be back and we highly recommend this gracious home.
Sad to leave this beautiful location. It doesn't get any better than this! Thank you so much! We didn't cook at all but it was just nice to have the fridge to & all the ammenities of home! We visited a lot of our friends & wined and dined out daily We even had a cute cat lounge in our back patio to greet us every day! (gave it treats & water daily) Just loved having a "pet" around. Beautiful tropical garden is so inviting to the entrance way. Wish we could live here forever! Recommend highly! Thanks to the wonderful family for letting us share your beautiful home!
This location offers the most awesome views of the ocean and sky. We were treated to spectacular sunrises and surf. The views were magnetic and soothing. Quiet neighborhood; lovely home. it's a great treat to be there!
This house is amazing! It had everything you could possibly need/want. The only complaint we have is that the wedgetail shearwater had made a home in the bushes and it made the most horrific sound at 4 am. Despite the wake up calls from the wild the house was still wonderful and even more than we could have hoped for.
It was so much nicer to stay at a house instead of a motel. Having the little things like beach towels available to us was a real plus. As for Claudia she was very helpful as to where to go, what to see. The house was in good shape and the view of the ocean was fantastic. We all had a wonderful vacation to the island.
The property is not a represented in the advertising. Swimming beaches are a drive away not a walk. One bedroom is behind a sliding divider not a door. There is a very minimal view of the ocean from the master bedroom suite. Many things were in disrepair when we arrived. You will be required to leave a security deposit as large as the rental which is very unusual. You will be required to sign multiple disclaimers. Make sure you do a " car rental" type survey of the house to note everything that is chipped, bent or otherwise not in perfect condition, call rental agent immediately if anything is not working or your security deposit will be accessed for damages you did not incur.
We are sorry to hear that unlike most guests, you encountered an unusually high number of negative issues with the home. We strive to keep the home in meticulous condition and we as the property managers ensure on a regular basis that the house does not display any repair items unless it is inevitable. The home is as advertised with a rocky oceanfront and a small beach cove 5 minutes walk away. The larger Kailua beach is a 5 minute drive away. There is an ocean view from the master bedroom and the bedroom with the sliding divider is often appreciated as it allows the cooling tradewinds to flow through while still providing privacy. We appreciate you taking the time to provide your opinion.
Deposits required upfront are way too high and the refundable deposit was almost impossible to get back after our stay. The property management company had the $3,000 deposit for three months. The young girl handling the return of the refundable deposit was very insulting to me and my sisters with comments like 'they were investigating a missing towel, a pen-size chip in the kitchen sink (which was mentioned to us upon our arrival at the home as something the previous renters damaged), bleach stained dish towels (there was no bleach in the house, a broken sisters and I are adult women and to have these petty, fabricated damages the reason we had not received our deposit back was INSULTING!!! We paid a lot of money to stay at this property. They obviously do not want repeat business or recommendations.
We are sorry to hear that the refund of your security deposit was not handled in what you feel to be a timely manner, even though our contract clearly outlines that security deposits may take longer to return if there are any damages as we must take the time to document everything. In this instance, your security deposit was refunded in full despite the photographed damages and a check was mailed to you on the 14th day after your check out. It was then returned to us due to an incomplete address that you had filled out for your billing and refund information. We rectified this by letting you know immediately and we even paid to priority mail a new check out to you even though it was through no fault of our own that we were provided an incomplete mailing address. We hope that you enjoyed your stay otherwise and that this did not tarnish the other beautiful memories that you have of your island vacation.
